1995 Fast & Furious Toyota Supra MK-IV

With the release of the new Fast and Furious movie, it’s only fitting to have a Toyota Supra as this issue’s classic car. Agreed, the 1995 Supra is not really a classic, but the image of Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, driving the candy orange Supra, with Vin Diesel at his side, has already become a classic image inmany people’s minds, especially after it “smoked” the Ferrari.

The 1995 Supra was the last generation of the car, and borrowed a lot from the Lexus SC300/400. The look was completed redesigned with more curves and rounded body styling. The front end of the ’95 Supra looked great, and the back end – well, either you liked it or you didn’t. There was a massive, high spoiler and a bulbous rear end. But, take the skin off the car, and you were left with a potent beast that broke records all over the world. The stock Supra put out a healthy 320 hp, but the orange one in The Fast & Furious was pelting out 544 hp. Adding top tuner parts, nitrous oxide, and custom software allowed this car to scream to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. And to stop this car, this Supra was fitted with cross-drilled, slotted 14” Stillen rotors and AP Racing six-piston calipers.

Production of the Toyota Supra ended in 2002, mostly likely due to emission standards. Nobody thought, or expected, the Toyota Supra to have such a trusted following. The earlier generations of the car were good machines, but The Fast & Furious franchise took the car to another level. With such an amazing platform, tuners now have the opportunity to build a screaming Supra, similar to the one Paul Walker drove. RIP Paul Walker.
