I really like Lexus. I like the company as a whole and really respect what they’ve been able to accomplish over the past 35 years with their product. They’re one of the last bastions of the everyday V8 engines and they put them in big, luxurious coupes and sedans. In conjunction with this they haven’t buried their head in the sand and ignored the endless North American obsession with SUV’s. They currently offer a comprehensive selection of SUV’s. Among them are the likes of the NX series. It’s not the introductory offering as that belongs to the curious looking UXH. If I were to buy a Lexus, I’d start looking at the NX. It’s beautiful, comfortable and incredibly refined and meets the true definition of luxury.

Power & Performance
You get one engine choice in the NX and the 2.4L Turbo offers up 275hp and 317 lb/ft. It’s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD system. The power is delivered in a smooth fashion and the car glides down any road with no effort. I was impressed with how this car goes about its business on the road.

Exterior
A lot of a vehicles appeal is tied to how it looks. If a car is ugly we’re just not gonna feel it. Lexus knows this as the NX is a pretty car. No two ways about it. The lines are generally conservative but beautiful. The now ubiquitous Lexus pyramid grille is present in the NX and it works well on this car. It adds weight to the exterior and balances out the entire design.

I wanted to comment on the colour of this particular press car. We used to call cars this colour blue. Now we have Lexus to tell us it’s not blue, but Grecian Water. I know the waters around Greece are blue (some might say more green than blue but that’s neither here nor there) but I’m not sure this colour has anything particularly unique that qualifies it with its geographic moniker. I like blue, and blue is good enough for this colour.
Interior
You get real leather in the NX 350. There are a lot of synthetic upholstery options in the world of cars and it was refreshing to get an old school organic entry in this car. The leather was supple and incredibly comfortable. I know it’s not kosher to advocate for the use of animal products these days but when they’re just better, I’m gonna do it. I couldn’t imagine a vehicle like this with synthetic garbage lining its lovely interior.

Quality
The 2025 Lexus NX 350 is a wonder of refinement and initial quality. It’s quiet and smooth and feels like a premium vehicle. There may be parts sharing between Lexus and Toyota, but the engineers at Lexus are still building in an elevated experience you won’t find in their Toyota cousins.
CQI – 8. Nice carpet.
Value
The Lexus NX 350 (as specified) is expensive. All its competitors (similarly equipped) are expensive too. If you’re shopping in this price range, you should look at one. The NX will offer you good reliability, lower maintenance costs and a true luxury experience. You could go German but I wouldn’t, not when you can get one of these.
It should be noted that this car actually starts around $54,000 CAD and adds up the nearly $70k CAD with added options. If you spec this thing right you can get all the good stuff and save lots of money.

Final Thoughts
The 2025 Lexus NX 350 is a great car. I’m not a huge fan of mid-sized SUVs but if I were, this would be my bag. It’s refined and sophisticated and feels well made. Containing the DNA it does, I also have faith that the car will last a lot longer than it’s lux rivals (I also attach this faith to the Acura RDX) and cost you less in the process.
