2025 Ford Bronco Sport

The Ford Bronco Sport Sasquatch Outer Banks model is a compact SUV. It is coined as the “Baby Bronco” as it is a smaller version of the full sized Bronco.  I had the opportunity to test drive this beast for a week. Let’s dive into this “Baby Bronco” review.

My tester Bronco Sport came in the eruption green metallic exterior with the ebony roast interior. The eruption green exterior was a sight to behold, with a two tone black roof. I was an instant fan of this color combination as it reminded me of our family’s first SUV. It was a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer LT in the similar green color as the Bronco Sport. The bold grille design with the BRONCO lettering along with the bull bar is an appealing sight.

This tester Bronco came equipped with the Sasquatch package. This package includes a set of Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires measuring at 235/65R-17. The tires paired with the 17 inch black aluminum wheels enhanced the look of this SUV.

The Sasquatch package offered on the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks is magnificent. A few features that stood out for me are the HOSS 2.0 off-road suspension, underbody protection, advanced 4×4, and the under engine steel skid plate. The HOSS 2.0 off-road feature offers a balance between everyday driving and off-road adventures for those who enjoy outdoor activities. Next, the underbody protection along with the steel skid plate offers an extra shield of protection for the engine and the transmission.  All these features make the Bronco Sport significantly more rugged. As a result, it can handle moderate trails and is capable for off-roading adventures.

Ford has named its Terrain Management System, G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain). To activate this feature, the driver turns the knob labelled G.O.A.T. Modes and the system automatically turns on and disperses power to all four wheels for maximum traction. This is a great feature as the system adjusts to changing road conditions by adjusting torque and transferring power to the front wheels when wheel slip is detected.

The five G.O.A.T. Modes are, Normal for balanced everyday driving, Slippery for wet, icy, snowy roads, Eco for efficient driving, Sport for a drive focused towards power and performance, and Off-Road for rough, uneven, and mixed terrain driving. The rotary gear shift dial was a neat feature as it cleared up space from the traditional gear shifter.

The Bronco Sport features a 1.5L three cylinder EcoBoost turbo charged engine which boasts 180 horsepower and 200 lb. ft. of torque. It is paired with an eight speed automatic transmission. Driving the Bronco Sport in the city was not smooth as the engine kept growling and it was hesitant. However, on the freeway in Sport Mode, the 1.5L EcoBoost turbo charged engine responded without hesitation and easily passed other vehicles. I found the visibility was exceptional and as a result there were minimal blind spots.

When I sat inside the Bronco Sport, I noticed the 12.3 inch configurable digital gauge cluster and the 13.2 inch LCD touchscreen to control Fords latest SYNC 4 infotainment system. It comes equipped with in-dash navigation and SirusXM satellite radio. The navigation system is precise and I was amazed how efficiently it navigated from point A to point B.

Also, I liked the setup of the Fords SYNC 4 as it provides a crisp and clear system with good graphics. The best part was the Bang & Olufsen (B&O) sound system, which included a 10 speaker stereo system with a subwoofer. I liked the B&O sound system as it enhanced bass and tones for each genre of music without sound distortion. Also, the infotainment system is user friendly for Android and Apple users and best of all its wireless. The Infotainment system is a touch screen which has controls for air conditioning, heated seats, and the heated steering wheel.

The Bronco Sport has comfortable seating for five people. The front seats are sport contoured and heated. They are premium trimmed bucket seats with 8-way power driver’s seat and 6-way power passenger seat. However, I found the rear seating tight for adults versus children. Also, the cargo space was very limited. The rear lift gate with the flip up glass was impressive as you could open the tailgate or the rear glass to access the cargo.

All Bronco Sport models come with a system coined CoPilot 360 Assist+. This includes auto high beams, blind spot information with cross traffic alert, lane keeping assist, driver alert, front collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise to name a few safety features. It also has rear view camera, 360 degree camera with trail and split view. I was more than convinced Ford had done an outstanding job to ensure the Bronco Sport was equipped with the latest safety features for on-road and off-roading.

The price of the Bronco Sport Outer Banks model as tested, is $55,015.00 total MSRP. This includes the base price of $43,195.00 and total options coming at $9,625.00. These options include the Sasquatch package for $4,995.00 along with destination and delivery at $2,195.00.

When I compared the Bronco Sport Outer Banks model with other compact SUVs like the Toyota Rav4 and the Honda CR-V, I found the Bronco Sport provided more off-road options versus the latter two. It can conquer trails and city streets along with delivering a perfect blend of off-road capabilities and comfort.

All in all, the Bronco Sport Outer Banks model is great for everyday driving. This compact SUV was made with the outdoors in mind and Ford has delivered. I would recommend the Bronco Sport Outer Banks model with the Sasquatch package for couples who love outdoor adventures or growing families.
